Let's see if I can really keep this up....

Well, as most of you know, I'm not working any longer. I essentially took a layoff from my employer leaving me with unemployment checks and treasured time with my baby girl! While I muddle through the state regulations and take back the money I've put into unemployment over the last 15 years, I get to be a stay-at-home mom! YAY! I threw myself a nice little send-off party into mommy-hood last Saturday. Okay...maybe not a party, but a number of my closest friends came to celebrate with drinks, appetizers, and games. That's my kind of party, so perhaps that's just the adult version. But, I digress...

I've just about finished my first full week at home with the little monster (as we so affectionately and regularly call Piper). But, she is far from a monster...more like a regular, albeit mild-tempered, toddler. Oh my....a toddler. I can't believe I have a toddler! She is certainly showing signs of her age, however, even with her sweet disposition. She seems to enjoy saying no, even if I'm not convinced she actually means it. In the morning I wake her up and we look out the window and talk about what she sees "outside" or in her words "out-ide"...where did the "s" go? See....I told you...so sweet!! Then we come downstairs and the first thing she wants to do is watch Elmo (Sesame Street). I thank my lucky stars she has not discovered some of the other weird children's shows. Sorry to all of the fans of Yo-Gabba-Gabba (that show is just WEIRD)....although, as I sit here and type, I wonder....is that what OUR parents thought about Fraggle Rock?

Most of my days at this point are just entertaining her and keeping up on the daily household tasks. Maybe not the most exciting days to some, but to me.....so special; I know I'll never get this time back. I adore her. I know there will be days when I will struggle to find the patience to deal with the "toddler 'tude," she will throw at me. But, after days like today when she doesn't have a nap and still says "HI" to get my attention just so she can give me "loves".....the difficult days won't be quite as difficult.

My hope is to get this updated weekly.....maybe more frequently depending on the day :)

Happy Friday!

Since I haven't updated the hard drive with pictures yet, we'll start where it all began......
